The weather has been glorious making up a little bit for last year's wet summer. The solar panels have put in 114 ah into the battery bank in the last two days.
Morning: We have been almost alone on the mooring since the bank holiday has finished. This has let me get on with a few 'touch up' paint jobs. I have also been doing some preparation of the paint surfaces as well.
Afternoon: The Gruffalo has been home to pick up our mail and a parcel containing a new DAB radio that we were about to order from a dealer on eBay. That was until we discovered the same radio £15 cheaper with free delivery on Amazon. Now I don't like Amazon because they are not paying corporation tax. So the £15 saved will go some way towards offsetting the tax. It's nice being a tax collector.
Evening: The insect life meant that we had to retire inside soon after sundown. But it proved to be an attraction for the bats. Did you know that bats can eat over 3000 of the small flying insects like mosquito and midges on an evening.
Wildlife: Pipistrelle bats, Dragonflies Four spot chaser, Red darter. Butterflies included, Green veined white, Brimstone, Fritillary and Orange Tip.
