Knottingley to Haddelsey Flood Lock.
Another late start and another early finish as we left Knottingley and headed out onto the River Aire. The sun was soon warming us up and the wind was trying to cool us down.
An uneventful journey as the River was low and the flow quite gentle. However, It was not always this way. The fallen trees and other river rubbish was deposited in places on the tops of the flood banks. Ample indication of how high the water had been and where it had breached in places. A few river side trees on the insides of the bends looked as if they had been trimmed up for Christmas. The decorations being plastic bags of every colour and hue.
At West Haddelsey we turned onto the Selby Canal. Lunch time and so we moored on the 48 hour visitor moorings. We were passed by fellow bloggers on Nb Seyella and we exchanged a brief wave. I was up to my elbows in pots and pans at the time.
Cleaned the ventilation mushrooms again, then followed up by a good polish. They are gleaming once more in the sunshine - if you see us, you will need sunglasses for the glare! I deserve a beer.
